Food Dive: is looking for a senior editor

Food Dive Senior Editor is responsible for reporting and writing stories about the food and beverage industry. This includes breaking news briefs and in-depth stories that analyze new trends. As a senior editor, you will be responsible for planning and executing large projects. You will also travel to industry events and interview journalists. This position reports to the managing Editor.

What can you bring?

Proven track record in reporting, writing, and editing for the food dive and beverage industry.
Able to edit both short and longer-form content for a daily and weekly Ingredients newsletters, and also edit breaking news stories for the website.
Writing headlines and subject lines that increase clicks and opens.
Information about issues and trends that affect a national audience for food dive industry leaders. This includes M&A, the rise of plant-based protein and alternative protein, decline in traditional dairy, shifting consumer behaviours, changes in business practices, food policies, cannabis regulation, sustainability, and other topics.
Ability to interpret and analyze trends, data and other issues for food dive leaders.
Time-management skills that are deadline-oriented.
Bachelor’s degree is in English, journalism or another related field.
Minimum 7+ years experience, with at least 5 years food coverage. Experience in B-to-B publishing a plus.

It is desirable to have experience covering financial topics such as bankruptcy, mergers and purchases and company earnings.
Writing for business requires experience.
Familiarity and HTML
Basic SEO knowledge is essential.
Familiarity with AP Stylebook
Use Google Analytics and other monitoring tools to get the best experience.
